The Environment and Resources program provides master's and doctoral studies founded on the principle that addressing environmental issues demands cross-disciplinary collaboration. Rather than focusing on specific academic fields, both professors and students concentrate on environmental concerns. Participants are empowered to investigate their chosen specialization by integrating perspectives and techniques from various disciplines. The emphasis lies on acquiring both the theoretical framework to comprehend their research's scholarly background and the practical abilities to perform independent studies. This initiative promotes creative exploration and novel approaches, moving beyond rigid, predefined skill sets. The goal is to equip graduates to navigate effectively within the intricate professional and societal networks where environmental solutions must be developed.
Interdisciplinary work is institutionalized through course prerequisites, the composition of faculty advisory panels, and research projects. Participants must complete coursework spanning multiple academic domains alongside classes designed to enhance analytical capabilities. All candidates must complete either a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation as part of their degree requirements.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
