The Agronomy program's goal is to create, combine, and utilize knowledge about cultivated plants used for nourishment, animal feed, and human welfare. We identify solutions to challenges and explore possibilities related to productive efficiency, sustainable methods, quality enhancement, and environmentally-friendly approaches.
Studying agronomy equips students for professional roles in research, education, and outreach within academic and governmental settings, as well as technical positions in industries focused on biotechnology, agroecology, crop system ecology, plant genetics, and related fields.
UW-Madison's Agronomy program ranks among the nation's top-tier programs. We dedicate ourselves to comprehensive research, innovation, education, and community engagement to tackle global concerns like food shortages, nutritional quality, ecological effects, and sustainable practices.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
