The School of Law, in collaboration with the Graduate School, provides a dual-degree program allowing students to obtain both a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics (M.S.) within three to four years. This program is especially valuable for those aiming to practice law in rural areas or pursue careers in agribusiness finance or natural resource law.
Students can complete both degrees with significantly fewer credit hours compared to pursuing them separately. This efficiency is achieved by permitting 12 hours of approved law courses to count as electives for the M.S. degree, and vice versa. Only credit hours transfer—not grades—meaning graduate coursework won't affect a student's Law School GPA or class standing.
