The graduate program in orchestral conducting provides diverse opportunities for students to hone their podium skills and beyond. Through weekly one-on-one instruction, sessions with the newly established Instrumental Conducting Lab Ensemble, and collaborative studio discussions exploring musical scores and broader conducting elements, participants gain comprehensive training. Each graduate conductor assists with the UW Symphony Orchestra and opera performances, while doctoral candidates get to lead student ensembles in concerts.
