Boasting around 130 graduate students and approximately 60 faculty members, the Department of History hosts one of America's oldest, most prestigious, and wide-ranging graduate programs, celebrated for its enduring culture of collaboration and inclusivity. Our department provides distinct graduate degrees in both History and the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology. The History degree program structures graduate education around primary fields of specialization. While the majority of our students focus on one specific field, those with interdisciplinary research interests can design customized study plans.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
