The Department of Physics boasts a long-standing reputation for excellence in graduate education and research across diverse fields including astrophysics, atomic/molecular/optical physics, condensed matter physics, particle physics, plasma physics, quantum computing, and string theory. Our state-of-the-art facilities support cutting-edge research endeavors. The department employs an extensive team of professionals: 45 tenured faculty members, cross-appointed affiliated faculty, research scientists, senior researchers, and postdoctoral fellows. Our vibrant graduate community comprises more than 175 students representing numerous nations worldwide.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.

Minimum TOEFL requirement: 92 internet (iBT); 580 paper-based test (PBT)
Minimum IELTS requirement: 7.0
