The Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) program takes an interdisciplinary perspective on examining individuals and families throughout their lives, focusing on both research and its practical applications in programs, policies, and professional practice.
PhD candidates in Human Ecology's specialized tracks can obtain a Master of Science in Human Ecology Research as they progress toward their doctorate by completing required coursework and research projects.
Eleven dedicated faculty members, along with additional affiliated scholars, support the HDFS graduate program. These educators maintain active professional profiles with distinguished records of scholarly work recognized nationally and internationally. Their expertise spans multiple disciplines such as psychology, sociology, education, psychiatry, and human development studies.
