The Evolutionary Biology Named Option enables biology students to focus their education on evolutionary studies, with this specialization noted on their academic records. As UW-Madison doesn't offer a dedicated evolutionary biology major, this program serves as the sole way to demonstrate expertise in this expanding and sought-after discipline. By pursuing this named option, undergraduates can meet their intermediate/advanced biology requirements through evolution-focused coursework, spanning from core classes in basic evolutionary principles to higher-level electives exploring diverse aspects of the field. Additionally, participants will enroll in an evolutionary biology seminar course.
