Our programs include a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences, with the BS offering an optional Medical Science and Human Biology specialization. These degrees equip students for advanced studies, professional programs, or immediate career opportunities. The BS with Medical Science and Human Biology emphasis is specifically designed for those aiming for professional programs like medical, dental, physician assistant, or veterinary schools.
All three degrees incorporate foundational courses in behavioral sciences, social sciences, and humanities, while allowing students to customize their studies through elective choices.
A key distinction between the BS and BA is that the BS mandates additional coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics compared to the BA.
BS students can fulfill their second language requirement by either completing a language sequence or choosing between two alternative tracks: Environmental and Conservation Biology or Medicine, Health & Society.
BA candidates may satisfy the second language requirement through 12 college credits in one language, or have it waived by completing four high school units in a single language or demonstrating proficiency in another language.
