A clinical laboratory scientist, known alternatively as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist, plays a crucial and sought-after role in healthcare. These specialists conduct analyses on patient specimens to identify diseases, assess their progression, and evaluate treatment efficacy.
The Clinical Laboratory Science program at UWL boasts an outstanding achievement history. For three consecutive years, every graduate has successfully passed the national certification test, with all entering professionals securing employment in the field.
Whether referred to as medical technologists, medical laboratory scientists, or clinical laboratory scientists, these experts all perform the same essential work. They scrutinize bodily fluids, tissues, and cellular material, identifying pathogens and microorganisms, measuring fluid chemistry, determining blood compatibility for transfusions, and monitoring patient treatment responses through diagnostic testing.
