The Mathematics & Statistics Department at UW-La Crosse supports a wide range of learners. We foster growth for all liberal arts students, equipping them with fundamental knowledge for exploring both natural and social sciences while preparing them for professional pursuits. Our program is equally committed to developing specialists in mathematics and statistical analysis.
Mathematics represents the systematic study of patterns and abstract concepts. Applied mathematics focuses on practical mathematical techniques for scientific, technological, commercial, and industrial applications. Nearly every field relies on mathematical or statistical principles to some degree. It forms a core component of liberal arts learning and serves as the basis for numerous academic disciplines.
Applicant must have completion of secondary or post-secondary from institution.
English Language Proficiency
Applicant must have TOEFL score of 73 with IELTS score of 6.0 and PTE score of 54. In addition completion of ELS level 112 and completion of WESLI level 700 is required.
Priority application deadlines are 15 December for the January/Spring semester and 15 July for the September/Fall semester.
