Geographers examine the connections between human societies and their surroundings.
For those seeking to develop abilities to tackle urgent environmental and social challenges like climate change, disaster response, demographic shifts, and global integration, geography could be an ideal discipline.

UW-La Crosse's Geography Program provides students with hands-on training using cutting-edge technology to address environmental problems. They utilize professional Geographic Information System (GIS) software, drones, and advanced field equipment. Through collaboration between students and faculty, the program explores historical and current environmental and social circumstances while creating approaches for establishing a more adaptable and sustainable tomorrow. The program has brought students into nearby communities and across the globe—from analyzing pollution in regional wetlands to assessing climate effects in the Himalayas.
