The growing effect of environmental issues on living standards has substantially increased employment prospects in environmental engineering, ranking it among the most rapidly expanding professions. Florida's leading center for environmental engineering education, training, research, and technological advancement is FIU's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Our program aims to equip students with a thorough knowledge base essential for developing optimal and economical engineering solutions to environmental challenges at both local and global scales. The 127-credit curriculum includes technical coursework covering environmental engineering, air pollution control, waste management, water supply systems, and water resources engineering.
