At UW-La Crosse, you'll encounter numerous research chances collaborating with faculty in a department renowned across the state for outstanding teaching.
The UWL Biology Department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in life sciences. Our department features cutting-edge equipment and facilities for both coursework and investigations. Students can pursue research projects in diverse biological fields, with most undergraduates conducting independent studies under faculty guidance. Academic courses and research projects leverage our local natural resources—the Mississippi River and La Crosse River Marsh.
UWL's general education program (Gen Ed) forms the foundational academic experience for all undergraduates. Sample degree pathways incorporate Gen Ed requirements to guarantee completion of these essential courses. Students can adjust their schedules based on program recommendations or personal needs.
