The field focused on measuring environmental exposures is known as exposure science. Our Master of Science programs in Exposure Science and Occupational Hygiene prepare scientists and practitioners to detect, assess, and mitigate exposures that could elevate disease or injury risks. Through collaboration with faculty, students learn to pinpoint, measure, and address workplace and community hazards. Study areas encompass: evaluating and managing biological, chemical, and physical risks; investigating respiratory, reproductive, and chronic illnesses; analyzing occupational and environmental cancer patterns; conducting biological monitoring and health surveillance; and developing workplace and environmental health policies. The curriculum provides thorough understanding of health and safety fundamentals, advanced technical competencies, and hands-on training.

Qualification Requirements
Hold the minimum equivalent of a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. or its equivalent from an accredited foreign institution or a Bologna bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 180 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits.
Grade point average (GPA)
The UW Graduate School requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years (90 credits) of study.
