The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) Program at the Foster School of Business equips future accountants with top-tier education, ethical foundations, creative problem-solving abilities, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Specialized training in data analytics gives students the competitive advantage to apply big data methods in financial auditing careers. The MPAcc curriculum features hands-on sessions with experts from leading firms like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Amazon, Costco, Microsoft, and Tableau. Running from late September to early June, the program offers courses that ready students for the demands of the accounting field while meeting Washington State's CPA exam credit requirements. With a curriculum emphasizing the growing role of data analysis, the MPAcc program trains students to generate audit insights using cutting-edge analytical tools. Classes frequently present actual auditing challenges and teach effective communication of data-based solutions.

Qualification Requirements

The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) Program, with its two tracks of Auditing & Assurance, is designed primarily for applicants who have an undergraduate business degree with an accounting option or major. Generally, students with such a degree would not need to complete any course prerequisites prior to applying for the program. Applicants with non-UW degrees will be screened to determine whether the prerequisite courses have been taken.

English Proficiency:

The Graduate School is temporarily accepting official test scores for both the Duolingo English Test and the TOEFL ITP Plus For China to assist international students with remote testing options. This policy is currently in effect through the autumn 2021 admission cycle (i.e., students enrolling in autumn 2021).

TOEFL iBT - Minimum Required Score (ELP Required): 80; Recommended Score (ELP Satisfied): 92 or higher
