Our seven Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs concentrate on key, dynamic fields of advanced legal study. Tailored for both international attorneys and U.S. graduates with a J.D., UW Law's LL.M. programs enable legal practitioners to enhance their expertise and broaden their skills. Students benefit from UW Law's Seattle location, immersing themselves in the city's practical learning opportunities while participating in initiatives that nurture emerging legal professionals. Offering six focused concentrations plus a flexible General LL.M., learners customize their curriculum to align with career goals and personal passions. After foundational coursework, students explore diverse advanced electives spanning specialized industries and interdisciplinary subjects, with options to enroll in courses across UW's other schools.
The Global Business Law LL.M. serves both international and domestic students seeking advanced understanding of U.S. and global business law. Drawing on five decades of comparative law excellence, we prepare graduates to excel as internationally-minded business professionals, master both civil and common law systems, and connect with a growing global network of emerging practitioners.
First degree in law (e.g., J.D., LL.B.); preferably 2 years work experience.
We generally prefer LL.M. applicants to have had some professional work experience.
