Enhance your understanding of epidemiologic techniques and fundamentals through a demanding academic program combined with hands-on research experience under the guidance of distinguished faculty alongside a skilled and varied student community. Our PhD alumni have excelled in advancing public health through research careers in academic settings, research organizations, government agencies, and private sectors. This 90-credit program (reduced to 60 credits for those holding a relevant master's degree from an accredited institution) usually takes four to five years to complete, depending on dissertation progress. Alongside developing and defending a dissertation, the curriculum includes mandatory coursework, elective options, a Preliminary Exam, and both written and oral General Examinations. Our doctoral program equips students with comprehensive skills across multiple domains, readying them for successful careers in epidemiologic investigation.
