The Population Health Nursing (PHN) specialization within our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program prepares nurses to enhance healthcare systems and community wellbeing both domestically and globally. This interdisciplinary program equips students to: Develop leadership capabilities for collaborating with various stakeholders and populations, Apply expertise in community evaluation, policy creation, program implementation, financial planning, and administration to promote wellness initiatives, influence health policies, and develop effective solutions to healthcare challenges. Graduates of our DNP-PHN program frequently report more fulfilling career trajectories and renewed enthusiasm for nursing, having acquired the essential skills to become influential leaders in the field.
An in-process or earned bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program (a nursing degree must be completed prior to beginning your program of study)
A minimum 3.0 GPA (on 4.0 scale) for the last 90 graded quarter credits
English Proficiency:
The Graduate School is temporarily accepting official test scores for both the Duolingo English Test and the TOEFL ITP Plus For China to assist international students with remote testing options. This policy is currently in effect through the autumn 2021 admission cycle (i.e., students enrolling in autumn 2021).
TOEFL iBT - Minimum Required Score (ELP Required): 80; Recommended Score (ELP Satisfied): 92 or higher
TOEFL pBT - Minimum Required Score: 500
Duolingo: Minimum Required Score (ELP Required): 105; Recommended Score (ELP Satisfied): 120 or higher
IELTS: Minimum Required Score 6.5
