Atmospheric Sciences is a broad field encompassing diverse subjects such as weather prediction, climate change, air pollution, alpine meteorology, oceanic weather patterns, El Niño phenomena, ozone depletion, glacial periods, and extraterrestrial atmospheric conditions on Mars. This discipline tackles both intellectually demanding scientific questions and issues vital to contemporary society. Graduates in atmospheric sciences can pursue various professional opportunities, including meteorological forecasting, environmental weather analysis, broadcast meteorology, advanced academic research, or other specialized career trajectories. Those selecting the Meteorology specialization qualify for the professional meteorologist certification awarded by the United States Civil Service Commission.
Student must have a High School Qualification.
Due to limited testing availability from COVID-19, the UW will accept the Duolingo’s English Test for autumn 2021 applicants. A minimum score of 105 will be required for admission. The TOEFL iBT special home edition and the IELTS Indicator at home exam will also be accepted for 2021 international freshman applicants.
