The Comparative Civilizations program equips students with comprehensive knowledge to study and interpret diverse cultures across the Near East, Middle East, and Central Eurasia. Learners explore both the distinctiveness and interconnectedness of these societies throughout history and geographical boundaries. The curriculum incorporates two years of language instruction, with options including Arabic, Persian, Turkish, modern Hebrew, and Turkic languages like Uzbek or Uygur. Through elective courses and practical research experiences, students deepen their regional expertise, culminating in an original capstone research project. Graduates pursue successful careers in multiple sectors including government, academia, legal professions, commerce, and healthcare.
