A Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies provides access to the rich world of ancient Greek and Roman literature, history, art, archaeology, and philosophy, mainly through English texts. Learners discover how these sophisticated societies continue to shape modern civic life, professional environments, intellectual pursuits, and cultural expressions through diverse educational experiences: engaging language courses, focused seminars on subjects from gender studies to ancient scientific thought, and accessible international study programs. Through these studies, students gain intermediate proficiency in Greek or Latin alongside refined abilities in critical thinking, teamwork-based problem solving, and compelling written and verbal expression. Alumni enter professions across multiple sectors including teaching, legal practice, media, corporate leadership, and medical fields.
Student must have a High School Qualification.
Due to limited testing availability from COVID-19, the UW will accept the Duolingo’s English Test for autumn 2021 applicants. A minimum score of 105 will be required for admission. The TOEFL iBT special home edition and the IELTS Indicator at home exam will also be accepted for 2021 international freshman applicants.
