The Ph.D. program's core objective is to cultivate expert researcher-scholars qualified for diverse positions in public and private higher education institutions. Graduates will possess the skills needed for careers as academic faculty, clinical practitioners, or research specialists in university or clinical environments.
The Sports Medicine specialization prepares students for teaching and research positions in athletic training, physical therapy, and related musculoskeletal injury disciplines. This rigorous, research-driven track features advanced coursework and intensive research components leading to dissertation completion. Participants collaborate with Sports Medicine faculty as well as experts from kinesiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation medicine, and other university departments.
