Through the interdisciplinary Engineering Science program, students can design their own educational journey. The curriculum's foundation is built on minors from two distinct departments, offering students both diversity and adaptability. Engineering Science features a distinctive framework that enables students to stay current with swift technological and societal shifts by navigating into new fields. As the sole interdisciplinary degree program at UVA Engineering, it empowers students to craft an undergraduate experience aligned with their passions or career objectives by pairing a minor in one engineering field with a second in mathematics, science, or another engineering area. These dual minors, supplemented with extra technical electives, let each student tailor an academic plan to their professional aspirations. The Engineering Science major excels at positioning students at the intersection of disciplines, where answers to society's intricate problems often emerge. Graduate institutions and employers alike value this cross-disciplinary outlook, and our alumni thrive in both academic and industrial settings.
