Through the interdisciplinary Engineering Science program, students can design their own educational journey. The curriculum's foundation is built on minors from two distinct departments, offering students both diversity and adaptability. Engineering Science features a distinctive framework that enables students to stay current with fast-evolving technology and societal shifts by exploring new fields. As the sole interdisciplinary degree program at UVA Engineering, it empowers students to tailor their undergraduate studies to their passions or career objectives by pairing a minor in one engineering field with a second in mathematics, science, or another engineering area. These dual minors, supplemented with extra technical electives, let each student craft a personalized academic plan aligned with their professional aspirations. A key benefit of our Engineering Science major is its focus on the intersection of disciplines, where answers to society's intricate problems often emerge. Graduate programs and employers alike value this cross-disciplinary approach, and our alumni thrive in both academic and industrial settings.
