The undergraduate program in Architectural History offers a foundational study of the field within a liberal arts framework. By the start of their sophomore year, students choose between two specializations: Architectural History or Historic Preservation. The initial year follows a shared Common First Year curriculum, with coursework spanning three School of Architecture departments: Architecture, Urban Environmental Planning, and Architectural History. In their senior year, students undertake a thesis project, conducting in-depth research and composing an advanced paper on a self-selected topic under the guidance of a departmental faculty advisor.
