The ceramics program is rooted in the belief that clay remains a relevant medium for modern artistic practice. Alongside foundational skill development and traditional ceramic material knowledge, we foster the cultivation of a personal visual language that authentically represents each artist. To enrich your learning, coursework covers diverse techniques including high/low temperature firing, handbuilding/wheelthrowing, glaze formulation, mold creation, and kiln construction. The program features specialized courses like Ceramics History and an interdisciplinary Cross 3D Focus degree combining with Sculpture Intermedia. As the region's pioneering ceramics program, we bridge historical traditions with contemporary discourse, aiming to cultivate versatile artists with distinctive creative perspectives.
