The School of Music's conducting program provides personalized, focused instruction to a small cohort of graduate students pursuing master's or doctoral degrees, preparing them for professional careers as choral or instrumental conductors. Participants benefit from extensive podium opportunities within a vibrant educational setting.
The three-year DMA program requires 56-70 credit hours, including private conducting instruction, ensemble participation, music history, advanced theory, conducting workshops, performance studies, and supplementary coursework. Completion involves writing a dissertation and presenting four recitals.
