The School of Music's conducting program provides tailored, expert instruction to a small cohort of graduate students, preparing them for professional careers as choral or instrumental conductors. Participants benefit from extensive podium opportunities within a dynamic educational setting.
The three-year DMA program requires 59-60 credit hours, including private conducting instruction, ensemble participation, music history, advanced theory, conducting seminars, and performance practice courses. Students must complete a dissertation and present four recitals to graduate.
