The Doctor of Musical Arts in Music is a 90-credit minimum graduate program available for Collaborative Piano, Choral Conducting, Keyboard, Instrumental Conducting, Strings, Winds, Brass, Percussion, and Voice. This DMA program combines conservatory-style training with academic coursework tailored for careers in music.

Outside academics, students have abundant chances to participate in performances and musical groups spanning various styles and traditions, from classical and chamber music to contemporary jazz.
Students who begin study at the master’s level at UNCG must successfully fulfil all requirements for the master’s degree and successfully present a doctoral audition/interview to be admitted into the doctoral program.
English Language Proficiency: TOEFL: internet based - 79, or paper based - 550. A score of at least 6.5 is required on the IELTS.
