The College of Music faculty has designed CU Boulder's DMA programs following the standards set by the National Association of Schools of Music. This advanced degree caters to composers, conductors, and performers who demonstrate both artistic talent and academic prowess. Program alumni pursue diverse musical careers including composition, solo performance, ensemble work (from chamber groups to full orchestras), opera, jazz, or conducting roles across various musical genres. The DMA program especially emphasizes training for teaching positions at higher education institutions.
