The Ph.D. in Biomedical Science with a Bioinformatics focus prepares students for research positions across academic institutions, private sector companies, and public organizations. Alumni typically pursue postdoctoral studies or careers in biotech firms, universities, or regulatory bodies.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must hold an earned 4 year baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university, and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Typically, applicants will have an undergraduate major in Biology or a related discipline such as Biochemistry or Biophysics. Students with other majors such as Chemistry or Physics are encouraged to apply, but their coursework should include several semesters in biology.

A Master's degree is not required to apply to a PhD program.
