The University of Toledo features one of the nation's top Paralegal Studies programs, accredited by the ABA. Paralegals assist lawyers by conducting case research, drafting legal documents, and interacting with clients and witnesses. These professionals find employment in various settings including private practices, corporate legal teams, nonprofit organizations, and government offices.
The Legal & Paralegal Studies program serves as both an excellent foundation for law school and a direct route into legal careers.
This program delivers comprehensive paralegal training through academic courses and hands-on learning opportunities that build essential legal knowledge and communication abilities. It's important to note that paralegals cannot offer legal services directly to clients unless authorized by law. Participants must complete a minimum of 9 credit hours in legal specialty courses via synchronous methods, either in-person classes or interactive virtual sessions.
