Numerous exercise science students aim to channel their passion and knowledge of human physical performance toward preventing and managing illnesses and disabilities, improving overall health and fitness, and optimizing athletic performance through specialized training. The human performance and fitness promotion concentration caters specifically to these individuals. Alongside core exercise science coursework, students in this track pursue additional studies centered on utilizing exercise and fitness assessments for diagnosing and addressing cardiovascular and metabolic conditions, as well as improving muscular strength and endurance. This program emphasizes creating tailored exercise regimens to boost health, general fitness, and athletic capabilities.
Along with completing two internships, many participants pursue professional certifications from esteemed organizations like the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. These credentials, combined with their academic preparation, equip graduates with strong qualifications for careers in wellness programs, cardiac rehabilitation centers, and various commercial fitness establishments.
