The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program offers an entry-level route for aspiring registered Occupational Therapists (OTRs). The curriculum has been streamlined to 24 months, with planned implementation starting Fall 2025. Students can choose between two tracks: 1. COTA-to-MOT Bridge Pathway: Designed for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) holding a bachelor's degree, requiring completion of 68 credit hours. 2. Standard Occupational Therapy Pathway: Open to applicants with a bachelor's degree but no prior certification, involving 75 credit hours. This track will incorporate three new subjects: Professional Communication, Clinical Skills and Documentation, and Fundamental Disease Processes. The program features five semesters of hybrid learning (online and in-person), culminating in two 12-week Fieldwork placements. Successful completion qualifies graduates to take the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy examination. Passing candidates earn OTR status and become eligible for state licensing.
