This interdisciplinary program provides avenues for in-depth biological exploration and investigation, enabling students to expand their academic horizons at the graduate level.
The Biology Master of Science program features both thesis and non-thesis pathways to accommodate diverse graduate experiences. Customized study plans are developed based on each student's academic focus, in collaboration with their graduate advisor. Faculty research specialties span biochemistry, cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, microbiology, neuroscience, physiology, and botanical studies.
The Integrative Biology Department provides Master of Science programs in both Biology and Environmental Science. Graduate certification options include Environmental Science and Environmental Sustainability. The department collaborates with the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Construction Management to offer a joint PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering.
The Developmental and Regenerative Sciences (DRS) concentration is a research-focused thesis program aimed at generating novel insights through scientific investigation. The curriculum combines coursework with hands-on laboratory training, focusing on interdisciplinary methodologies considered crucial for significant breakthroughs in the discipline.

Qualification Requirements

Required Degree - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or have proof of equivalent training at a foreign institution.
Minimum GPA - 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) Departments may consider GPA of last 60 semester credit hours
Coursework - 18 credit hours in an area related to this graduate degree and at least 12 hours must be at the upper-division level.
Transcripts - Required from all institutions attended, international transcripts must be recorded/translated to English
Credential Evaluation - Required if you have earned university-level credit from foreign institutions. Submit an evaluation of your transcripts from Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) directly from the graduate admission application platform
