This program is tailored for students aiming for graduate studies or preparing to enter medical, dental, optometry, pharmacy, osteopathic, podiatry, veterinary, or chiropractic schools, as well as those not pursuing advanced biology degrees. The Department of Biological Sciences has been a cornerstone of liberal arts education for more than two millennia. Our goal is to deliver scientific education within the liberal arts framework for all students while offering specialized training for biology majors. We dedicate ourselves to equipping students with robust theoretical knowledge and hands-on scientific skills. Graduates will be fully equipped to advance their education in graduate or professional programs or to embark on diverse careers in biological, chemical, pharmaceutical, or marine science fields.

Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a 3.00 cumulative grade point ratio and at least 24 semester hours in biology and a general program, including related scientific subjects, which would be equivalent to the biology major offered for the Bachelor of Science degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Students who are deficient in some subject, but whose records are otherwise superior, may make up their deficiencies while they are enrolled in the graduate program.
Undergraduate academic attainment in biology, which meets with the approval of the graduate biology faculty.
Applicants whose native language is not English, and have not earned a degree at an English-speaking college or university, may be required to take either the TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearsons PTE-A exam.
