UTSA's Classical Studies and Humanities program is an interdisciplinary major that enables students to examine human culture and knowledge through multiple lenses, including language, literature, art, archaeology, history, and cultural studies. This foundation empowers you to investigate ancient civilizations or trace the evolution of ideas and creative expression across eras, from prehistoric times to the emergence of Christianity. The Classics and Humanities curriculum equips students with the analytical framework and academic opportunities to critically examine the progression of human culture and artistic expression.

The Philosophy and Classics Department provides Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) programs in both Classical Studies/Humanities and Philosophy. Students can pursue minors in Classical Studies, Humanities, Philosophy, or Religious Studies. Honors programs are available for both Classical Studies/Humanities and Philosophy majors.
