The Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering offers a distinctive curriculum backed by distinguished faculty, state-of-the-art equipment, and facilities to equip future leaders in advanced manufacturing and engineering management. This manufacturing engineering program is one of just two such programs available in Texas.
Students have access to industrial internships with globally recognized companies and research opportunities at national laboratories focusing on Additive Manufacturing, Robotics and Autonomy, and AI and Sensing for Process and Product Automation. They will strengthen their engineering abilities while developing a deeper grasp of industrial management and mechanical engineering principles, combined with expertise in computer science, economics, and innovation. The program hosts the UTRGV Center for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Cyber Systems, offering student research projects on contemporary manufacturing techniques, digital twin technology, industrial automation, and cyber manufacturing systems. Through hands-on experience with advanced laboratory equipment, students learn to apply their knowledge in practical situations. The skills acquired can pave the way for graduate studies or industrial careers.
This program holds accreditation from the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology - Engineering Accreditation Commission (ABET-EAC).
