This cross-disciplinary program equips students with skills to utilize contemporary mathematical modeling and computer simulation techniques for addressing intricate challenges in science and engineering. Graduates will become proficient in evaluating computational models' accuracy and numerical methods' dependability. The University of Texas at El Paso provides doctoral (PhD) and master's (MS) degree programs in Computational Science (CPS), blending computer science, mathematics, and various scientific and engineering fields from multiple departments within the Colleges of Science, Engineering, and Health Sciences. This integration creates a comprehensive knowledge foundation for tackling complex systems where computing is essential. CPS students gain expertise in mathematical modeling, algorithm development, computer simulations, scientific visualization, big data analysis, and parallel/distributed high-performance computing.
