The Master of Science in Chemistry program trains aspiring chemists for teaching and research careers across academic, industrial, and government sectors. Participants conduct hands-on laboratory work and/or computational research across diverse specializations including analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and chemical physics. This program prepares graduates for both conventional chemistry roles and interdisciplinary areas like forensic science, healthcare, and materials research. Through the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, students pursue an M.S. in Chemistry with research opportunities in multiple specializations: Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, and Materials Science.
