Polymer chemistry graduate students choose their curriculum from diverse courses in chemistry, chemical engineering, mathematics, physics, and related disciplines. This includes a mandatory year-long sequence covering polymer physical and organic chemistry, plus supplementary courses deemed essential by the student and advisor. Faculty can provide specialized polymer topics courses or arrange tailored instruction. For M.S. candidates, a minimum of 18 coursework or non-thesis research credits is mandatory, with some programs requiring more. Although research credits are compulsory, thesis project completion depends on performance and dedication rather than credit accumulation alone.
