The Open Source Intelligence Graduate Certificate program is tailored to strengthen open source expertise for careers in national security. This certificate focuses on developing skills in collection strategy planning, assessing source reliability, and systematic analysis. The curriculum comprises 15 credit hours. To earn the Graduate Certificate in Open Source Intelligence, students complete six (6) mandatory and optional courses totaling 18 credit hours. The program offers flexible enrollment options, allowing students to study either full-time or part-time. Qualification Requirements
The Graduate Certificate in Open Source Intelligence may be taken as a stand alone program of study or in combination with another graduate degree program offered within the university. Admissions requirements for the Graduate Certificate include the following:
Completion and submission of a graduate admissions application
Submission of official transcripts in accordance with the requirements of the Graduate School
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 is required for admission to the Graduate Certificate program.
If you did not attend high school in the United States and your most recent institution of learning was not located in an English-speaking country, UTEP requires you to provide evidence of English-language proficiency. Minimum score 550 on the paper-based (pBT) TOEFL. Some programs require 600 or better. Minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test (iBT), and minimum of 6.5 on IELTS.
