The Department of Mechanical Engineering has developed a 15-credit Graduate Certificate program in 3D Engineering and Additive Manufacturing. This credential can enhance UTEP's existing Master's in Mechanical Engineering or other compatible graduate degrees, serve as an additional qualification for engineers at other institutions, or function as an independent certification for working professionals.

Qualification Requirements
A Bachelor Degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, civil, industrial, biomedical, computer science, leadership and materials engineering or a related field in engineering or science. The degree must be from a regionally accredited institution in the United States, or from a foreign institution providing an equivalent education.
Either current enrollment in a graduate level engineering program with an official transcript, or a current resume that demonstrates that the applicant has the sufficient professional preparation for the program.
A brief statement of purpose describing the reasons why the individual is interested in this certificate.
A single letter of recommendation from a supervisor of faculty member.
If you did not attend high school in the United States and your most recent institution of learning was not located in an English-speaking country, UTEP requires you to provide evidence of English-language proficiency. Minimum score 550 on the paper-based (pBT) TOEFL. Some programs require 600 or better. Minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test (iBT), and minimum of 6.5 on IELTS.
