The Department of Applied Science is a multidisciplinary graduate program primarily centered on doctoral studies, while also providing select Master of Science opportunities. Students can tailor both degree paths to specialize in various physical and natural science concentrations. Each graduate works closely with their advisory committee to design a personalized academic plan aligned with their career aspirations. Our diverse student body brings varied academic backgrounds and professional objectives to the program. The graduate experience combines structured coursework, faculty mentorship, peer collaboration, and seminar participation to create a comprehensive learning environment. The curriculum's flexible structure allows each student, in consultation with their faculty advisors, to shape their unique academic journey.
To fulfill degree requirements, students must complete either: 1) 30 graduate credit hours plus an original thesis (approved by their committee and defended orally), or 2) 32 graduate credit hours including Applied Science 710 Research Project.
