Biomedical engineering Ph.D. candidates will collaborate with top aerospace scientists to study human health in space environments. You'll have opportunities to partner with NASA's Space Technology Research, Development, Demonstration and Infusion initiative, creating innovative solutions for commercial space travel. This interdisciplinary BME doctoral program frequently involves mentorship from faculty across multiple departments. While research focuses differ, all projects share an engineering methodology to address medical challenges. Throughout the program, students develop specialized expertise while gaining experience in cross-disciplinary teamwork.

Qualification Requirements

If you did not attend high school in the United States and your most recent institution of learning was not located in an English-speaking country, UTEP requires you to provide evidence of English-language proficiency.
