The Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) program employs a practical, hands-on methodology to train students in materials synthesis, creating high-performance materials, analyzing material degradation, conducting forensic engineering for extreme conditions, developing 3D-printed biomaterials, and designing eco-friendly materials.

Qualification Requirements

Official High School or College transcripts must be sent directly from the schools attended in the U.S. or abroad. Foreign transcripts in a language other than English must be translated before being submitted to the university. Copies or faxes are considered unofficial and will not satisfy this admission requirement. All international students must submit entrance exam scores. Take one of the following exams and request your scores to be sent directly to UTEP from the testing center: SAT: minimum score of 1070 (reading + math sections) with a score of 480 on the reading section ACT: minimum composite score of 23 with a score of 19 on the English section TOEFL: minimum score of 500 on UTEP’s institutional paper based exam or a minimum score of 61 on the Internet Based TOEFL (IBT) UTEP does not accept IELTS scores for admission.
