Through strategic planning, students have the opportunity to earn two complete degrees within the typical timeframe for one. For comprehensive details, students are encouraged to consult their academic advisors. The College of Engineering's Accelerated Degree Program enables highly capable and driven students to advance toward their academic objectives largely at their preferred speed. By utilizing methods such as advanced placement, credit by examination, adaptable scheduling, and independent study, this accelerated pathway allows completion of both undergraduate coursework and master's-level graduate studies within the standard five-year curriculum duration.
Outstanding students may also work toward a master of science (MS) degree concurrently with their bachelor of science (BS). The combined BSMS degree in Materials Science and Engineering varies from the standard BS program by featuring two six-month Co-op terms rather than three, and incorporating required graduate courses during the final two years of study.
