Most full-time incoming students planning to major in Biological Sciences, while maintaining a balanced schedule of science/math and general education classes, will notice significant overlap among the degree paths for various concentrations. However, by the midpoint of their sophomore year, the specialized requirements for the Biomedicine track (along with the B.S. degrees in Microbiology and Cellular and Molecular Biochemistry) begin to differ substantially from those of the Ecology/Evolution and Secondary Education concentrations.

Qualification Requirements
Official High School or College transcripts must be sent directly from the schools attended in the U.S. or abroad. Foreign transcripts in a language other than English must be translated before being submitted to the university. Copies or faxes are considered unofficial and will not satisfy this admission requirement.
All international students must submit entrance exam scores. Take one of the following exams and request your scores to be sent directly to UTEP from the testing center:
SAT: minimum score of 1070 (reading + math sections) with a score of 480 on the reading section
ACT: minimum composite score of 23 with a score of 19 on the English section
TOEFL: minimum score of 500 on UTEP's institutional paper based exam or
a minimum score of 61 on the Internet Based TOEFL (IBT)
UTEP does not accept IELTS scores for admission.
