The Master of Arts in Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication (ATEC) program nurtures innovative creators, academics, and cross-disciplinary researchers, tailored for those seeking advanced education in technology/media or preparing for doctoral studies in related disciplines.
Under the guidance of distinguished faculty from the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology, students master core theories and methodologies in technology/media studies while engaging with current discussions in these areas. As they progress through coursework and develop research projects, students draw upon faculty expertise spanning diverse areas including global media analysis, feminist media theory, game studies, digital learning, media culture, health humanities, disability studies, digital journalism, remix culture, public scholarship, science/technology research, art-science fusion, and animation studies. The program serves both working professionals seeking skill enhancement and full-time scholars aiming for doctoral work.
